ALUFOAM thermal insulation can used in environments where heat control is important. It works to keep buildings cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. As well as being used in the building industry, ALUFOAM has significant other applications in multiple industries, for example:
» Housing
» Agricultural buildings, where temperature control is closely linked to the productivity and the associated costs of livestock farming.
» Insulating load spaces for all kinds of transport
» Protecting chemicals against sun radiation during storage/transport
» Thermal protection of fruit and vegetables in transit
» Thermal insulation of ships, sailing boats and motor boats
» Shielding vehicle windscreens against sunlight
» Thermal wrapping/package protection
5mm of this insulation will substitute 10cm of glass wool or foamed polystyrene.
Fitting ALUFOAM thermal insulation is very easy. Installation only requires:
» Scissors or hobby knife
» Staple gun to affix to a wood surface
» Electric drill and screws to attach directly to plaster/cardboard*
» Glue gun
» Self-adhesive aluminium tape to cover the joints between ALUFOAM sheets
When attaching ALUFOAM to plaster or cardboard, it is important to allow a minimum 12mm gap between the material and the plaster/cardboard,
for example in the following applications:
» attics, lofts, ceilings
» roofs constructed for roofing tiles
» facades (clinker brick, siding, stone and metal plates)
» heat insulation of pipes and containers
» heat insulation of garage doors
» air-conditioning installations
Direct mounting (without air gap):
» floors set on concrete
» underfloor heating
» thermal and steam insulation of floors
» heat insulation of pipes and containers
» heat insulation of windows
» air-conditioning installations
